Code of Conduct

At SVKM’s College of Engineering (COE), Shirpur, we believe in creating an environment that fosters academic excellence, professionalism, and personal growth. Our Code of Conduct outlines the principles and expectations that guide the behavior of students, faculty, staff, and visitors to ensure a harmonious and productive campus atmosphere.

General Guidelines

1. Respect and Integrity
  • All students, faculty, and staff must treat one another with dignity, respect, and fairness.
  • Honesty and integrity are expected in all academic, professional, and social interactions.
2. Discipline and Responsibility
  • Students must attend all classes, laboratories, and official events punctually.
  • Adherence to timelines for assignments, examinations, and projects is mandatory.
  • Avoid engaging in disruptive activities that disturb the learning environment.
3. Ethical Behavior
  • Uphold academic integrity by avoiding plagiarism, cheating, and other forms of misconduct.
  • Report any unethical practices or behavior to the appropriate authority.

Campus Conduct

1. Dress Code
  • Students must maintain a neat, modest, and professional appearance at all times.
  • Specific dress code guidelines may apply during labs, workshops, and events.
2. Use of Technology
  • Internet and digital resources must be used responsibly for academic purposes.
  • Misuse of mobile phones, laptops, or other electronic devices during classes or examinations is strictly prohibited.
3. Campus Property
  • Maintain cleanliness and take care of all campus infrastructure, equipment, and facilities.
  • Vandalism, damage, or unauthorized use of property will result in disciplinary action.
4. Prohibited Activities
  • Ragging, harassment, or any form of bullying is strictly prohibited and punishable under law.
  • Smoking, consumption of alcohol, or possession of prohibited substances within the campus premises is strictly banned.
  • Any form of discrimination on the grounds of gender, caste, religion, or disability will not be tolerated.

Academic Conduct

1. Classroom Behavior
  • Maintain decorum during classes and labs by being attentive and respectful to faculty.
  • Follow faculty instructions and actively participate in academic discussions.
2. Examinations
  • Students must strictly adhere to examination rules and avoid any form of malpractice.
  • Cheating or unauthorized assistance during exams will result in severe consequences.
3. Research Ethics
  • Maintain honesty in research work, including project reports and publications.
  • Proper citation and acknowledgment of sources are mandatory to avoid plagiarism.

Professional Behavior

1. Interaction with Faculty and Staff
  • Students are expected to maintain a professional and respectful relationship with faculty and staff members.
2. Representation of College
  • Students represent SVKM COE during events, internships, and other external programs. Appropriate conduct and professionalism are expected at all times.
3. Extracurricular Activities
  • Participation in extracurricular activities is encouraged, but it must not affect academic responsibilities.

Consequences for Violating Code of Conduct

Any violation of the above guidelines may result in:

  • Verbal or written warnings.
  • Suspension or expulsion from specific programs or activities.
  • Monetary penalties or compensation for damages.
  • Legal action in cases of severe misconduct or violation of laws
